Lyndon Area Business Association
Annual Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2008
The Lyndon Area Business Association luncheon meeting was held at Lyndon City
Hall, 515 Wood Road, Louisville, KY 40222. A total of 38 attendees were present.
(Original sign-in sheet on file at LABA office.)
Joey Cole-President opened the meeting and welcomed everyone to the “Annual
Meeting” where Officers & Board of Directors are elected. McAlister’s Deli was
recognized for catering lunch.
Jim Holladay, Pastor-Lyndon Baptist Church who served as the Chairman of the
Nominating Committee shared information on the election process. In order to
determine who was interested in serving on the Board, a questionnaire was sent
out in November to all members. This year more people were interested in serving
on the Board than were available positions; which speaks very positively of the
participation within LABA.
The Nominating Committee reviewed all questionnaires and developed the election
slate. In December the official election slate as well as a brief bio of each
candidate was distributed to all members. Today, LABA members were provided a
ballot to cast their vote. Jim Holladay & Cathy Robertson, LABA Executive
Director left the meeting to validate the ballots and count the votes.
Introductions - Joey asked each member to introduce themselves and their
business.
During the introductions, Mike Lorenzen with Edward Jones Investments and a
current LABA Board member reminded the group about an upcoming blood drive. LABA
has partnered with Lyndon Fire & Rescue, 8126 New LaGrange Road to host an
American Red Cross blood drive on March 3rd from 3-8 P.M. Our last blood drive
in November produced 30 pints of blood. We would like to increase that number as
much as possible. Please share this information with your friends, family and
co-workers.
Joey advised that recently the Board reviewed the LABA By-Laws and amendments
were made. All members received a copy of the By-Laws. If anyone has questions
or concerns regarding any of the information, please contact the LABA Office at
339-9115.
Joey asked the group to look around the Lyndon area and locate LABA business
banners that were recently displayed. The Metro Economic Development Department
provides funding to LABA, which is greatly appreciated. Part of their funding
will pay the cost of the business banners.
Joey reviewed the first quarter Calendar of Events with the group. (They were
previously emailed to all members.)
