CITY OF LYNDON

MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2010

The Council Meeting was called to order by Mayor Susan Barto at 6:00. The Council said the Pledge of Allegiance. Those present: Jim Baker, Terry Brooke, Betsy Kramer, Tom Solley, Phillip Worsley and City Attorney John Singler.  Becky Ricketts and Mary Watson were absent.

A motion and a second were made to approve the minutes of the August 23, 2010 Council Meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

The Treasurer’s Report was given and will be filed for audit.

A motion and a second were made to approve Municipal Order #11.8. Motion carried unanimously.

ORDINANCE #8-23-10 – 2^nd  Reading – Amending 2010-2011 Budget to increase Capital Projects. – A motion and second were made to have City Attorney, John Singler to give a second reading by summary of Ordinance #8-23-10. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Singler gave the second reading. A motion and a second were made to adopt Ordinance #8-23-10. Upon roll call vote, the following voted “aye”: Jim Baker, Terry Brooke, Betsy Kramer, Tom Solley and Phil Worsley. No one voted “nay”. Motion carried unanimously.

AWARD OF STREETSCAPE BID – A motion and a second were made to approve Lawrence and Associates bid of $46,799 for the streetscape project. Motion carried unanimously

Mary Watson arrived at 6:05

AWARD OF LEAF REMOVAL BID-  Only one bid was received. A motion and a second were made to approve Miller Mowing and Landscaping’s bid of $26,818 for the 2010 Leaf Removal. Motion carried unanimously.

OTHER BUSINESS:

The Mayor introduced Judge Katie King and District 17 Metro Council Member, Glen Stuckel who were in the audience. Both spoke to Council regarding their work.

Mayor Barto also introduced Jean Henry, owner of Lawrence and Associate, the winner of the Streetscape bid.

Mr. Baker asked Glen Stuckel about plans for sidewalks along LaGrange Rd. He explained the expensive process and compared to other areas. He stated he is open to working with Mayor Barto in implementing the project if it is possible.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:        

The next Caucus Meeting will be on October 18, 2010 and the Council Meeting is October 25, 2010, both at 6:00 p.m.

ADJOURNMENT:

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
