1. Where is City Hall located, what are the hours, and what is the phone number?
We are located at 515 Wood Road. Our hours are Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm; Friday 8am - 1pm. Our phone number is 423-0932.
2. Where do I vote?
For information on your polling location and voter registration contact the Board of Elections at 574-6100.
3. Who do I contact to arrange public utility services?

4. Who do I call for information on Youth Sports Leagues in the Lyndon area?
Contact Lyndon Recreation at 425-9301. The fields are located in A. B. Sawyer Park at 8310 Whipps Mill Road. They offer baseball, softball, T-ball, and football.
5. If I am planning on opening a business, what must I do?
You must apply for a business license. The application forms are available at City Hall. If your business will have a sign, you must apply for a sign permit.
6. What is required to apply for a building permit?
We require you to fill out a Letter of Compliance form. In addition bring a plot plan of your lot with the addition or new building drawn on it with the dimensions and set backs from front, rear, and side yards. After the City Engineer reviews your plans for compliance with city ordinances and zoning laws he will approve or deny your application. Upon approval you will be notified that you may pick up the Letter of Compliance and take it to the Inspections Permits and Licenses office at 444 S. Fifth St. (574-3321) to apply for your Building Permit.
7. What is the phone number for the Jefferson Co. Extension Service?
The Cooperative Extension Service is now located at 810 Barrett Ave. and their phone number is 569-2344.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
PET OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pick up after your pets.
- Keep your dog or cat on a leash when taken outside.
- Check on your barking dog. Be considerate of your neighbors.
PARKING IN YARDS
- Parking in your yard is a violation of Lyndon and Metro Louisville ordinances.
- Any vehicle, part of a vehicle, trailer, boat, etc. must be parked on a paved or gravel surface.
- Violators will be cited.
PROPERTY MAINTENANCE
- All property owners are responsible for keeping their property maintained.
- Grass must be kept cut under 12”.
- All exterior property must be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
INSURANCE PREMIUM TAX
- Ensure proper collection of the 5% Municipal Insurance Tax on auto, boat, home, and the first year of life insurance policies by notifying your insurance company that you are a resident of Lyndon.
- If your insurance company does not have you listed as a Lyndon resident, this tax is being sent to Metro Louisville.
- The Municipal Insurance Tax applies to residents and businesses within Lyndon’s city limits.
SOLICITATION PERMITS
- People soliciting door-to-door in Lyndon are required to have a permit issued by the City.
- If they do not have a permit, please report this to Louisville Metro Police at 574-2111.
